Hepcat Dilemma will be performing their first show if the year this Saturday, May 2nd at Lucky’s Bar & Grill (1724 Prospect Road, Pittsburgh PA 15236) but there will be an interesting twist to the performance. Bassist/singer Chris Colpo is being sent to Seattle for work commitments and will be unable to perform with the band that evening. But for Hepcat Dilemma the show must go on so for the first time since 1994, they will perform as a duo.

“We’re broken hearted that Chris won’t be able to play the show,” says guitarist Bob Loiselle. “But E and I will do our best to represent the band properly. It will be fun and we’ll be able to play a few songs that haven’t been played for a while.” The show starts at 8 PM and the two-man Hepcat Dilemma will be first up. Bob will be handling the vocals in Chris’s absence and a few songs may be played as instrumentals.

The band made one appearance as a two-piece back in 1994. They were booked to perform at a benefit for Veterans for Peace at Pittsburgh’s Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hall on short notice and founding bassist Chuck McPherson was unable to make the show. Bob and former drummer Byron Glatz performed the benefit playing a blazing five song set that included “Bank Robbery”, “The Return of Lars the Butterfly” and a rare cover of “Band on the Run”.
