We checked in with Hepcat Dilemma to get a progress report on the new album and from all accounts we should be hearing it before the too long. Recording wrapped last fall at The Vault on the highly anticipated follow up to 2019’s critically acclaimed “Art Imitates Life” and producer Bob McCutcheon has been working on the mixes. A total of thirteen songs were recorded and about half the album has been mixed.
“We’re still finalizing the sequence but it looks like the new album will have twelve songs,” reported guitarist Bob Loiselle. “It’s so exciting every time Bob sends us a new mix and we really start to see the album take shape.”
Most of the new songs have already been played live by the band, including “Miss Jane Takes a Trip”, “The Bouncy Song”, “Lansberry’s Mail” and “The Romper Room”. The new material was well received when Hepcat Dilemma returned to live performance last year and the band feels that the recordings capture the power and intensity of the music.
The album will be released on Rat-on-a-Stick Records. No release date or title has been confirmed but the band is confident that it will come out in 2026.
