Hepcat Dilemma has released a new on-line single, “Things No Way” along with a new version of “Stumbling the Streets of No Regret”. The songs are available on Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music and most the major streaming services.
“Things No Way” was recorded at Hollywood Studios with producer Matt Vaughan during sessions that were intended to produce the new Hepcat Dilemma album. It’s a stormer of a track and shows that the band has lost none of their fire. “Stumbling the Streets of No Regret” was originally a highlight of the 2002 album “Overend” and was re-recorded a few years ago with the current line-up. It was previously available as a download on the Hepcat Dilemma website and is available to be streamed for the first time.
The band had been working on and off with Matt for a couple years recording tracks for a new album. Over the past few months, the band decided to abandon the efforts and start work over on the album with sessions that are due to begin in the summer (more on that soon!).
“We had about ten tracks finished, and they sounded really good,” says guitarist Bob Loiselle. “But we had changed a couple of the arrangements and decided it would be for the best if we just started over from scratch. We really want the album to be special. But we really felt the need to put something new out and ‘Things No Way’ just leapt out of the speakers at us so it felt like a natural choice.”
The band has not ruled out releasing more of the tracks recorded with Matt, but the plan is now to have most of them re-recorded. Even though it’s been a few years since the release of the last album, “Art Imitates Life“, Hepcat Dilemma expects the new album to come together quickly this summer. As Bob says, “We are more than ready.”
